Swordcery is from Temple Door Games, a partnership between two former devs on God of War. You play as Colt, a rando dude trying to save the Earth by collecting magic swords that have been raining from the sky. As someone who barely survived golf ball-sized hail once, the mere thought of raining sword is enough for me to not want to leave the house.
First and foremost, this game is absolutely stunning. Everything is clearly hand drawn and there’s so much detail. From your little dude, to the enemies, to the killer backgrounds Imagination Overflow really outdid themselves on the art.
The demo isn’t very long, and currently just includes a short tutorial of the controls and a single fight. Controls basically come down to dodge, duck, and a couple type of punch. Pretty simple.
Cultic puts off very strong Wolfenstein, Doom, and Duke Nukem vibes, which I’m sure the developer Jason Smith very much intended.
